Picture me Perfect

They say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, we beg to differ. It is the 3*3 cm box on your Facebook profile which perfectly reflects your splendour, exquisiteness and allurement. A lot of preparation, dialogue and deliberation goes into filling the space, the space which displays the face we choose to show the world and the story you wish to narrate. We all are constantly looking for opportunities to translate our charm and artistry into the wonders of a photograph. Wait no more, Montage presents to you a perfect platform to fill the vacuum. And to make the job easier for you, we are suggesting the 5 kinds of pictures you can click and what they mean:

1. The Classic Pose

Why take an unnecessary risk when you have the option to play it safe? If you decide to choose this category, there will be no dearth of options: pout, spread the word of peace with the two fingered V or rock the rock sign to win assured critical appraisal of those on your list.

2. ‘Main hi Main hoon’

Use that half a second to capture not only your mesmerising smile, glowing skin and radiant eyes but also your 10 on 10 photography skills. Declare it to the world that no other person can transform your beauty into a picture.

3. The more, the merrier

Use this opportunity to generate a magnetic field and pull all your friends, friend’s friends, don’t know who’s friends together. This snapshot is going to be the evidence to demonstrate that the next most popular thing at Montage after Montage is you. More number of people will also guarantee you abundance of likes. We, the publicity team of Montage, completely understand the real worth of those thumbs up.

4. ‘Photo kheechon’

Hours of staring in the mirror, looking at yourself, deciding the perfect length of your smile, angle of your face and placement of your hair all comes to that one moment when your inner voice tells you, you are ready. This is your moment of glory and you decide to share it with nobody as you scream to your friend, “yaar meri ek individual kheechon.”

5. Candid photo

This type isn’t a laughing matter. Its only when you perfect the art of looking in the other direction with a straight face pretending to be drowned in pool of thoughts, you get it right. Word of advice for the amateurs: Put your shades on.

6. Ek main aur ek tu

Exploit your display picture to tell the story of your love. Pose looking down at that delicious velvety creamy mass in the tall glass with the smell of fresh strawberries to paint the photograph with the emotions of love, devotion and commitment.

Unison

Every society has problems that plague them, issues that cripple them and norms that subjugate them. We all hope for change, that beaming ray of light that will liberate us from ourselves and our beliefs. While we stand and contemplate, they take action. Their voice echoes long after they have left, their words a wakeup call. Through their art they bring to focus the imperfection we form a part of, their thoughts reflecting ours. Let their scream be your plea, their verses your dream and their performance your fight.

#Kailedoscope it up: Sing ka King

As I walk down the street, I feel my heart beat to my favourite song. I can only picture myself, centre stage being flooded by the spotlight. So as I enter the audition chambers with all eyes directed towards me I feel the excitement tingle through my spine. This is my moment, my moment to shine. I hear myself serenade melodiously, the judges apparently hear a croak followed by a cacophony of boisterous crows. It is true then, music indeed is everybody’s possession. Dream big, unleash your inner rockstar.

#Kaleidoscope it up: En(d)trance

Dancing is like dreaming on your feet. In a dancer there is reverence of such forgotten things as the miracle of the body, mind, soul and their delicate strength. Dance is your pulse, your heartbeat, your breath, it is the rhythm of life, it is the expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sadness and envy. We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers we create the dreams

#Kaleidoscope It up: Phoenix

‘All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players’. The journey of our lives is dictated by the pursuit of that one true destination, that of eternal happiness and belonging. While some accomplish what they always hoped for and more, some fail miserably. However, an actor is reincarnated every day, embodying a new spirit through their work. Their happiness held hostage by the stage and their accomplishment hides in the applause. The stage is their true calling, their true destination, their humble abode.

Khaamosh! - Debating with a Cinematic Twist

Bollywood has produced it all- the sappy romantic stories, the movies which make your bheja fry and the ridiculous Rocky parodies. We bring to you a production with a grand cinematic twist- it will make you laugh, it will make you cry and it will make you scream. The protagonists will leave you howling with their snarky comments while their passion will make you tear up. The challenge is to stay true to your beliefs, to not let the other side deter your focus. The journey will be nothing less than a rollercoaster ride, strap on and hold on tight.

#Kaleidoscope It Up: Colour Me Rangeela

We bring to you our second creative ingenuity with 'Colour Me Rangeela'. Jump in a pool of colour, make a splash.

A stroke of the brush can transform a blank piece of paper into art, art that transcends subjective connotations. The colours intermingle, blend and collide with flourish breathing life into the canvas. Its meaning is open to interpretation, drawing an insurmountable open ended question mark. The beauty does indeed lie in the eyes of the beholder. What we often fail to recognise is that the beauty lies in the vision of the creator. Exploit the vision within, drench the world in your colour and colour yourself rangeela.

The Fine Arts Society will host four events during the two day festival- water colour painting and waste material on day 1 and face painting and rangoli on day 2. For further details, contact Khyati Joshi on 9899712717.

#Kaleidoscope it up:The crackapella

Music from a different angle. Experience the journey of every musician through our invention 'The Crackapella'

They have stuck together through thick and thin. They have always been each other’s backbone, each other’s support system. The world has always been against their dream, stereotyping them to traditional roles deemed appropriate by society. The Crackapellas have wavered, weighed down by the condescension of people around. The quest towards their true calling, their one dream has been shattered, pieced and taped together over the years. Music is what they live for, fight for and will die for. It’s Crackapella against the world.
